Supporting Shutdowns, Turnarounds and Outages (STOs)
IVS works with industrial companies across the UK to plan and deliver their Shutdowns, Turnarounds and Outages (STOs).
Valves are a key element of planned outage programmes for most plants and refineries, with correct maintenance and repair helping to revitalise operations and ensure safety.
Using tried and tested approaches, we help to minimise downtime and risk while ensuring all business objectives are achieved.
Planning
During the planning stage, the IVS team can advise companies on their turnaround schedule and in selecting the correct valves to include in the programme’s scope.
Our valve audits provide a detailed assessment, with our technical team applying decades of experience and an extensive understanding of valves’ maintenance requirements and their optimum performance levels.
Assessing the health of every valve, our input draws on all additional data, including previous outages, diagnostic and maintenance data, helping our customers to:
- prioritise essential activity
- maximise efficiency and avoid unnecessary work
- manage costs
- avoid unplanned outages
- maximise safety
Delivery
Serving plants and refineries throughout the UK, IVS’s mobile team plays a key role in the delivery phase of planned outage programmes. We also offer a 24-hour turnaround service.
Carried out on-time and on-budget, all our work meets OEM specifications. Where possible we will repair valves on-site, otherwise work takes place at our own centres where we can complete more complex overhauls.
All valves are fully tested and certified before being delivered back to the customer’s site.
Our quality-assured outage process also includes recommendations to help customers improve future turnarounds.
Turnaround case study
IVS managed a successful four-week turnaround programme at one of the UK’s principal oil refineries.
Ahead of the start date, IVS worked closely with the client to identify the valves and ensure capacity and resource was allocated appropriately prior to the valves arriving.
At each stage, the project team remained in constant communication with the customer.
Overhauling 74 valves, including Safety and Pressure Relief Valves, Non-Return Valves and Gate Valves
