POSITION: Full Time (Note: 3 Months Probationary)

Job brief

The Valve Technician position performs maintenance, assessment, repair, and testing on various types of industrial valves.  

Duties and responsibilities

  • Responsible for repair and testing of various valves, including but not limited to ball valves, gate valves, butterfly valves, safety relief valves, control valves etc.
  • Perform disassembly, cleaning, inspection, measuring, reassembly and testing of various valves at our Swansea facilities (Occasionally Pembroke) and client locations.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to valve maintenance and repair
  • Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment for valve repair
  • Ability to read and follow technical drawings, schematics, and manuals and comply with company quality control procedures.
  • Thoroughly complete all documentation associated with testing and repairs.
  • Ability to travel to job sites and adhere to all site safety and performance requirements.
  • Communicate timely updates to management, co-workers, and customers to ensure timely and successful completion of job responsibilities.
  • Works closely with co-workers, management and QEHS Co-ordinator to ensure safety of themselves and that of others.
  • Carry out transportation of valves to and from sites when required.

Qualifications and experience

  • Strong knowledge of valve types, components, and repair techniques
  • NVQ / HNC in Mechanical Engineering (Desired but not essential if experience held of 5 Years)
  • Experience in fork lift driving (If not – training will be provided)
  • A Full UK driving licence & suitable transport
  • You must be punctual, self-motivated and willing to learn
  • You must have excellent organisations skills with the attention to detail
  • You must be able to work in a team and sometimes alone
  • You must be dedicated to learn new skills and attend regular training as requested by the company
  • Holder of a CCNSG Card (If not – training will be provided)
