IVS golfers on top at Celtic Manor charity event
IVS’s team was proud to top the leaderboard as they followed in the footsteps of Ryder Cup legends at the Celtic Manor golf course.
The four-strong winning team was one of over 30 taking part in the Valero Benefit for Children Classic.
The annual event sees various contractors of the Pembroke Refinery go head-to-head in a day of charity golf to raise money for local good causes and when Valero asked if we would participate, we were happy to oblige.
Dave Britt, IVS’s operations manager, said: “This is the third year IVS has taken part. It was a pleasure to play on the 2010 Ryder Cup course and great to be able to support two worthy Pembrokeshire children’s charities chosen by the lads on the shop floor.”
The charities to benefit, with each receiving £2,500, are ASD Family Help – Pembrokeshire, which provides autism and neurodiverse information and advice, and Forever 11, which was established in memory of Zac Thompson, who tragically lost his life in July 2022. Forever 11 raises funds to help young children access crucial water safety training.
